Photonics West 2022 Update
Over the last several weeks, Thorlabs has been carefully following the precipitous rise in Covid-19 cases, as the Omicron variant spreads throughout the United States. Although data from other nations would suggest that we will see a strong increase in case positivity rates followed by a rapid decline, we are concerned that the situation will not improve quickly enough to feel comfortable moving forward with an in-person presence at Photonics West. In consideration of the health and wellbeing of both our customers and staff, we’ve made the difficult decision to withdraw from the exhibition.
If you were hoping to stop by our booth for an impromptu question about a particular item or to discuss a photonics need, we’d invite you to reach out to our Technical Support Team (firstname.lastname@example.org) so that we can assist! For those who had previously scheduled face-to-face meetings with our west-coast-based outside sales staff, we are planning to move forward with those arranged meetings. If you’d prefer to instead meet virtually, we’d be happy to accommodate!
We’d like thank SPIE for their continued commitment and the flexibility they’ve shown as we navigate what continues to be uncertain times. All of us at Thorlabs were looking forward to being amidst the broader photonics community that gathers each year in San Francisco and are saddened that we need to postpone our return to an in-person Photonics West until 2023. Until then, stay safe and stay well!
